New Skoda Superb Fastback

With Volkswagen and Audi both featuring what marketers and advertising agencies like to call "four-door coupe" models in their range (the Passat CC and A5 Sportback respectively), one wonders why the German group hasn't added a similar model to their more mainstream brands, Seat and Skoda.

Czech architect and designer Pavel Hrubyi decided to take matters in his own hands (or so to speak) and draw a four-door coupe, sportback, fastback or whatever else you would like to call it, proposal for the Skoda brand based on the firm's range-topping Superb saloon.

Hrubyi completely redesigned the Superb II from the B-column and back adding a more rakish roofline and getting rid of the production model's frumpy rear end with the dual opening boot lid.

Even though it's just a drawing, the end result looks quite promising. Maybe the folks over at Skoda should take a look at this.

If you were youthfully minded in the summer of 1969 you probably carried your own rolling papers in your trouser pocket, and drove a VW bus or Karmann Ghia. In the summer of 2006, you are probably now carrying an Apple iPod in your pocket, and driving or at least thinking of purchasing a hybrid vehicle.

Honda Accord Coupe

2010 Honda Accord Coupe - Click above for high-res image gallery

"It's the journalist special." That phrase, coined by our own senior editor, quite accurately sums up our initial impression of the Honda Accord Coupe EX-L V6 w/Navi 6MT (breathe). The Accord may be one of the best-selling cars in America, but we'll bet our bottom dollar that only a very, very small percent of the already meager coupe sales are made up of expensive EX-L Navi models fitted with the manual transmission. But give or take a few nitpicky options, this is the way we'd spec our own Accord Coupe if asked to.

Sure, it may seem that Honda outfitted this car just for us, but as we found out in our week-long test, there are plenty of reasons to like the two-door Accord. It's like vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup on top – the safe, reliable, trusty Accord underpinnings with an extra helping of sweet stuff. Honda knows it isn't going to move many two-doors equipped like this, but we think potential Accord Coupe buyers would be wise to check out the V6/manual package. Follow the jump to find out why.

Frequently Asked Questions About Student Auto Loans

So if I happen to have no credit, how am I going to get approved for a car loan?

Well, with the majority of car loan companies, being young and having little to no credit isn't a factor when it comes to granting an approval. Why is that? Well that's because an auto loan is a secured loan. The lending institutions are protected by the fact that if your loan does go into default they get to take your car.

What about if I have bad credit? How can a student get approved for an auto loan with poor credit?

It's the same thing as getting approved for it without having any credit. Students who have bad credit shouldn't have a problem getting an auto loan with bad credit because the lenders are protected, if you don't pay you simply lose your car.

What about the interest rates? What can I expect with bad credit? What sorts of rates are associated with no credit auto loans?

The interest rates that you receive that are related to a bad credit student auto loan will typically be a little bit higher than the interest that would be associated with a no credit auto loan. No credit loans tend to be slightly higher than the interest rates for a student that has good credit. However, no matter what your credit might be, if you make your payments in full and on time, in about a year you can apply for a car loan refinancing and receive a lower interest rate for your auto loan.

Do students require a cosigner when they apply for a college student auto loan?

Usually auto finance companies won't require a cosigner for auto loans up to the $25,000 range. If you happen to be a student, there isn't a need to have an auto loan for a car that costs more than $25,000.

Well what about buying? Would I need to buy from a dealer? Can I buy one from a private seller?

There are only a few select car loan companies online that offer the flexibility of being able to buy a car from anyone that you like. Most financial institutions work directly with the dealers, often only with franchised dealers. However, dealers that will work with you to find any type of make or model of a new or used vehicle that you happen to be looking for.

Getting a student auto loan isn't a difficult task. In fact, as outlined above, it's pretty simple. Just make certain that you make your payments in full and on time every month and you will be well on your way to owning the car of your dreams!

Many homeowners are perplexed when they see defects in their homes. If there is a water spot on the ceiling, does it mean a few shingles on the roof need to be replaced? Or does an entirely new roof need to be purchased?

Reggie Marston, president of Residential Equity Management Home Inspections in Springfield, Va., says it is important to thoroughly assess any defects in a home. Call in experts as necessary to help decide whether the repair is a major or minor expense, he says.

"Homeowners should have some method of determining the extent of the problem and how to have it corrected," Marston says.

Relatively common defects -- such as cracks in concrete or worn wooden decks -- may offer clues as to whether they can be solved with a quick, cheap fix, or whether they require a long, costly remodel, Marston says.

Homeowners need to use these clues in order to spend their repair budget dollars wisely.

Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4, Subaru Forester

The answer I give you the actual, real-world driving experience under normal circumstances. I got the 250 to 300 kilometers in a given week. I go to my Ortigas and Makati Central Business District offices back to the Ortigas area where I live. I play golf once a week in Antipolo or south, and I'm the guy who always overtake many cars on the road - not just content cruise. I also generally tend to the long way home, especially if a test device. A third of my driving is bumper to bumper traffic on C-5, EDSA and Ortigas. The rest is a mix of free-flowing city and highway. Here is my take on your choices:

Honda CR-V 2.4 AT 4x4 - I drove the Honda CR-V very pleasant apart from the fact that it is very comfortable, with light controls and a long line position. It is suitable for women. I remember about 7 km to 6.5 km per liter if I am the Honda CR-V for a few days, but this was the new unit and had less than 5000 kilometers on the odometer. Typical Honda engines for free if a few thousand kilometers and more efficient and powerful. That would would explain why the Honda CR-V I was driving was not as efficient as I had a Honda engine, is expected. There is a new 2010-model Honda CR-V and claims it runs even better with the changes in the suspension kinematics (ie the suspension of buses are made of another material that can absorb more vibrations from the road, without transmission to the cabin) made. Look out and get them a test drive.

Toyota RAV4 2.4 4X4 AT - I have not driven this SUV in a very long time. I remember vaguely, about 7.5 kilometers per liter, but at least three years ago, maybe even longer. Sorry about this one.

Subaru Forester 2.5 XT Turbo AWD AT - The SUV can easily hit 8 km per liter. The secret is the turbo. (Ie on a part Gas Cruise, if you are more on the gas pedal between the 20 - to 60-percent full speed) the turbo a comprehensive, efficient and complete combustion provides the fuel in the engine, allowing you extra power to all times. You end up on the accelerator even easier to connect, so you can cruise at very high speeds with less gas in the process. I think the easiest way to explain it. I want to think much more gently driving style that you make more than 9 kilometers per liter. Have I mentioned that this is the fastest, funniest, most unique and hottest SUV on the market today in its segment, price range?

I would've recommended it to the Outlander 3.0 V6, because the second-best SUV in its class. Mitsubishi sales Unfortunately not. Hopefully there is a new and improved version is coming soon.

Also this on my experience with the respective cars, my weekly routine and my driving style. I am generally inflate the tires to around 33-35psi cold for me to create the best possible grip and response of the minimum rolling resistance tires and what me most fuel efficient cars. Some of the guys from Top Gear driving less than I usually have the luxury to have prevented the car from bumper to bumper traffic jam, so they get more fuel / efficiency. However, the Subaru Forester SUV of the best in my book, closely followed by the Mitsubishi Outlander 3.0 V6 is accepted.

Zuma to focus on the economy

The economic welfare of South Africa will be a critical issue must be addressed by President Jacob Zuma, in his State of the Nation on Thursday address.

"It is important that the address to see how we [can] the effective support for accelerated recovery, then, that sustained growth in the medium to long term," said Minister of the Presidency CHABANE Collins.

Although Zuma is expected also to the fact that his government a lot for the tasks mentioned in the speech last year to CHABANE done implementation that reflect added: "Tomorrow the President will focus on what we should do to and, more importantly, we will measure our progress. "

The Minister explained that after the speech a lot more detail would be provided by the various ministries to the expected results, and the measurable results that are introduced.

CHABANE also said the speech will be done also work to effectively explain how the Government to expedite the service.

Address of recent years much emphasis on changing the way the civil service works, "CHABANE said, adding that it was for that reason met the presidents in series with the commissioner of police, mayors and municipal leaders and school principals .

The minister told reporters that something in the fight against HIV / AIDS, and he may also have plans for a national health system. But CHABANE neither confirm nor deny that anything could be said about the mandate of the SA Reserve Bank.
